This is a full install. Not a sandbox. Not a demo environment with half the features turned off. Everything CARL does on a paid license, your trial does too.
What you get in the trial
The trial includes every feature in the current release: Page Generator, AI Schema Generator, Templates, Popup Manager, Backup System, Scheduled Publishing, Members Area, Subscribers, Link Tracker, CTA Builder, Site Search, and Site Health. No artificial limits on pages, no features locked behind a paywall.
The only difference from a paid license is the 30-day expiry. When the trial ends, the admin panel locks. Your pages stay live. The files you generated are on your server, and they keep working. The hosting isn't held hostage.
How the install works
You need a server with PHP 8.3 or higher and a MariaDB or MySQL database. Standard cPanel shared hosting covers all of that. If you can install WordPress, you can install CARL. (It's actually simpler, because there's no FTP-then-database-then-config shuffle.)
Download demo-install.php, upload it to your server root, and navigate to it in a browser. The installer prompts you for your database credentials and admin password, builds the tables, and activates your trial. The whole process takes about 5 minutes. demo-install.php deletes itself when it's done.
After that, log in to the admin panel and start building.
What happens when the trial ends
The countdown banner in your admin panel shows how many days you have left. When it hits zero, admin locks with a message and a link to the pricing page. Buy a license, enter your key, and install upgrades immediately. Your pages, settings, and content are all still there.
If you decide that CARL isn't for you, the pages you generated will remain live on your server indefinitely. They're just files. They don't need CARL running to work.
